Come Walk With Me!
I am writing you today to tell you about an upcoming event that I am participating in that is both very important and very exciting to me. NAMIWalks, the signature walkathon event of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is being held in Portland, OR at Vera Katz Eastbank Esplanade*SE Main at SE Water on Sunday, May 20, 2012.

Just a year ago this month (February 2012) I started my own support group Bipolar Recovery. It is a big success and many people have come, shared, got support, gave support, and continue coming each and every week. I never knew that my Bipolar would end up being something that I would be able to share with people in such a positive way. It has made me feel very good helping Read On!

If You Find Your Why You Can Find Your Way
It is critical to the success of any business to find “your why”. Without it you are destined to fail.
I highly recommend that you help your new people to find their “why” in their first 24 hours in the business. Why, you might ask. Well, think about when you first got started in your business. You were excited, you began to dream again, your mind was open to new possibilities, and you believed you could do it. This is why it is so important to sit down with your new person and help them to identify “your why” with them. Walk them through the process. Ask them questions. Document it. Have them take out a piece of paper and write it all down. What are you looking for? Time freedom, a new house, college for the kids, to fire your boss, maybe you want to vacation, or how about recognition, a new car, help people, get healthy, make obscene amounts of money. What ever their why is, help them to identify their Ultimate Why and then place a monetary amount on “your why”.
This process is going to help you too. While doing this you will find out the commitment level of your new person and how much of your time should be devoted to them. The bigger their why the more time they get. Don’t forget you must know “your why” before you can help anyone else find their why. By knowing your why it will help you bring people to you with the same commitment level. It goes back to the law of attraction and attraction marketing.
You see your why is what is going to drive your business. It is going to be what gets you up in the morning, what makes you put in the extra hours in the evening after a long day at your job, what will keep you going after you hear no time and time again, how you will make sacrifices now to get what you want in the future. This means your why had better be BIG to you.
OK, now once you have your why and have placed a monetary amount on it you can look at your companies comp plan and see what it will take to get you to that level of income needed for your why. At this point you will work backwards and chunk it up in to small workable sections, or goals. The chunks I like to use are 30, 60, and 90 day plans of action followed with longer term goals of 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 5 years. These goals need to be challenging yet realistic. Are you going to be able to make a million dollars in a day when you first start, no. Can you make a million in your business, yes. You have to have that plan or you are driving blind. A good way to look at this is to imagine you need a new car. What is the first thing you need to do? Figure out what kind of car you want right? Color, make, model and specifics correct. Then what? How much will it cost? Then what? How will you pay for it. Now that you know all of the specifics you can make a plan to make it happen.
